Short Story – Forever Friends
Many of us struggle with the topic of planning for our end of life. Death remains taboo very much, even for the most obvious reason of discussing the end of life with our loved ones. However, planning for the end of life is more than just rituals, it is also very much about living the moments and remembering them.
End of life is more than just rituals, it is also very much about living the moments and remembering them
The launch of the Happy Urns project is a timely reminder for us to create lasting memories and record these precious moments with our loved ones.
We have created Celebration Kits, which contain prompt activities to guide us through this process. It is a collection of prompts and objects designed to help you to plan loving gestures and meaningful events for your loved ones after they have passed on. These prompts are as simple as cooking with our loved ones, to intimate ones like sharing our thoughts and feelings with those closest to us.
It is about creating lasting memories and capturing these moments as part of our lasting legacies. These prompt cards show us that every activity can be a celebratory moment, we just have to embrace and capture them.
Ying, Stephanie & Meilan.
They met when they first joined the same CCA at Secondary 1, with their shared passion for the outdoors and volleyball, these girls bonded. quickly Throughout the years, their friendship stayed strong; travelling together and celebrating milestones with each other.
As these girls celebrate their 50th birthdays, they embrace the next stage of their lives with each other’s support.
The girls join Ying in her fitness classes, Stephanie navigates healthy recipes for their cooking sessions, and they all enjoy Meilan’s wholesome bakes. They endeavour to spend time together, despite their family and work commitments, as they believe that the most meaningful way to celebrate life and engage death is to lead fulfilling lives with those they care most for.
Each fitness class and every bake they make together are simple moments they cherish and remember vividly.
